De geschiedenis van de havensteden Antwerpen en Genua is gelijklopend omwille van het commerciële belang van beide steden aan het begin van de moderne tijden. Op 20 september wordt er een studiedag georganiseerd dankzij de samenwerking tussen het Rubenianum, Dante Alighieri Antwerpen en het Italiaans Cultureel Instituut in Brussel. Een selecte groep internationale experten zullen er volgende thema’s bespreken: de kunsthandel, het Genuese mecenaat ten voordele van de Vlaamse kunstenaars zowel in Genua als in Antwerpen de contaminatie van Vlaamse en Genuese kunstenaars. Als voorbeeld wordt het verblijf in Genua aangehaald zowel van Rubens als Van Dyck.
