“The Magnificent Obsession” is the title of the first event on contemporary art organized by MODO asbl.
The guests invited to speak are Frédéric de Goldschmidt and Edoardo Monti, collectors, who will be moderated by Marina Dacci, an independent curator.
The main theme will be the confrontation between two generations of contemporary art collectors from different fields and backgrounds. The first, Frédéric de Goldschmidt, an esteemed collector who is among the most established in Europe; and the second, Edoardo Monti, a young collector who recently appeared on the international scene with great composure.
The dialogue with two different points of view will aim to deepen and highlight the criteria for selecting the works of large private contemporary art collections and to focus on the importance of art as an element of production of cultural values and not a mere commercial object.
MODO asbl is a cultural association located in Brussels in the studios of the artists Serena Fineschi, Alessandro Scarabello and Laura Viale.
It is a place of daily practice, as well as a place aimed at stimulating, enriching and renewing the dialogue on the centrality and importance of artwork.
Through targeted events, MODO fosters open discussions in which guests reflect upon selected works of art, focusing on their meaning and place in today’s perpetual panorama of instant images.
The meeting will take place in English.
Given the limited number of seats available, a reservation is required by writing to modoasbl@gmail.com, or by calling +32 476 81 10 94.
