Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave is the project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, curated by Vogue Italia, that presents the creativity of the new generation of designers to the world.
The “Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave” exhibition wants to give voice and visibility to new generations of Italian designers, bringing their vision and work to the world also through the fundamental support of the diplomatic-consular network of Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE agency offices. Fashion plays a key role in Italy, and it is important that it continues to be inspiration for the productive and creative system and an example in the world of Italian know-how.
Protagonists of the exhibition
Ten designers —ACT No°1, Gisèle, Cormio, lessico familiare, Magliano, Marco Rambaldi, Medea, Panconesi, Niccolò Pasqualetti, and SSHEENA — were chosen to represent contemporary Italian fashion around the globe. While reinterpreting artisan tradition in an original way with innovative languages and methods, they have also been able to maintain a solid and integrated relationship with other cultural and creative industries of Italy as well as offering their original take on issues dear to contemporary society. Their work and creativity are revealed through a photo exhibit specially created for this project and repertory images accompanied by audio-visual content dedicated to the work of the 10 talents.
